Former President John Mahama has pledged to abolish the 10% betting tax on winnings if elected in the December 7, 2024 elections.
Speaking at a mini rally at LA Olimpia in the La Dadekotopon constituency, Mr. Mahama emphasized his commitment to addressing issues affecting Ghanaians, especially the youth.
He reiterated his promise to scrap the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy), the betting tax, and the emission levy, criticizing the E-Levy for failing to meet revenue targets and unnecessarily burdening citizens.
John Mahama assured the youth that his administration would create ample job opportunities and address unemployment, underemployment, and skills mismatches, laying a foundation for their future success.
His focus on youth empowerment and inclusion is central to his campaign for the presidency.
