NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has pledged significant developmental projects across the six newly created regions of Ghana if elected as president in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Speaking during a visit to the Gambaga Palace as part of his two-day tour of the North East Region, Mahama emphasized his commitment to ensuring that each of these new regions receives critical infrastructure to support their growth and development.
Mahama outlined a series of ambitious projects, promising that every new region would have a public university to enhance access to higher education and foster local talent.
In addition, he vowed to build modern sports stadiums in each region to promote sports and youth development, alongside proper regional hospitals equipped to deliver quality healthcare services to residents.
He explained that these projects are part of a broader vision to address the disparities in infrastructure across the country and ensure that the newly established regions are not left behind.
Mahama noted that the lack of sufficient public amenities in the newly created regions has hindered their full potential for economic growth and social development.
The former president reiterated his belief that the NDC has a strong track record of delivering on infrastructure and would prioritize these projects to provide better opportunities for people in the six regions.
He urged voters in the North East Region to trust the NDC with their votes, promising a government that will focus on inclusive development and address the pressing needs of the new regions.
As part of his campaign, Mahama is focused on addressing regional inequalities, creating jobs, and restoring confidence in the economy, making these promises a central element of his platform.
He also stated that he is running for president again because Ghana is in crisis.
