Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the immediate past National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed strong confidence in John Dramani Mahama as the right leader to guide Ghana through its current economic challenges.
Speaking to NDC supporters in Adjei Kwadwo, Tema West, during John Mahama’s campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo criticized the current administration for pushing the country into a deep economic crisis without offering viable solutions.
He emphasized the urgent need for a change in leadership, warning that Ghana cannot afford to remain on its current path of economic decline.
Electing the right leader, he argued, is crucial for reversing the nation’s fortunes.
Highlighting John Mahama’s previous experience as president, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo pointed out that Mr. Mahama has the expertise to tackle Ghana’s economic woes effectively.
He also praised John Mahama’s proposed policies—such as the 24-Hour Economy, Women Development Bank, National Apprenticeship Programme, and the Big Push—as clear indicators of his commitment to the country’s recovery and growth.
These initiatives, he said, offer a roadmap to rebuild the economy and improve the well-being of all Ghanaians.
