JOHN DUMELO REPRESENTS ERIC OPOKU AT WORLD FOOD PRIZE FOUNDATION IN IOWA

Ghanaian actor-turned-politician John Dumelo has represented the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, at the World Food Prize Foundation event in Iowa, United States, where he highlighted Ghana’s progress and challenges in the agricultural sector.

In a social media post, DumDumelo said he travelled to Iowa last week on behalf of the minister to present an overview of Ghana’s current agricultural development, outlining both achievements and the challenges facing the sector.

Beyond his presentation, the Deputy Minister also held side meetings with businessmen who expressed interest in Ghana as a potential partner in agriculture.

The discussions are expected to create opportunities for partnerships and potential investments that could help grow Ghana’s agricultural industry.

Dumelo’s participation at the international gathering highlights Ghana’s efforts to engage global stakeholders and explore opportunities to strengthen its agricultural sector.

Agriculture remains a key part of Ghana’s economy, providing livelihoods for many citizens and contributing to the country’s food security. Partnerships with international businesses could help improve agricultural production, introduce new technologies and create opportunities for farmers and agribusinesses.

Although Dumelo is widely known for his acting career, his government involvement has increasingly placed him in the public spotlight for his work in agriculture and related development initiatives.

His visit to Iowa adds to his public service activities, with attention now on how engagements with potential international partners could translate into tangible benefits for Ghana’s agricultural sector.
