The immediate past National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has expressed strong confidence that John Dramani Mahama will become Ghana’s next president.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo believes the NDC is poised to win the upcoming elections, securing both a majority in Parliament and the presidency with John Mahama at the helm.
Speaking during Mahama’s two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for failing to deliver on their promises.
He emphasized that the 2024 election will center on trust, declaring, “Bawumia has shown he can’t be trusted, and this election will be about trust.”
He also encouraged NDC supporters to stay vigilant and not become complacent, urging them to work hard to secure a decisive victory in the election.
On the topic of the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo highlighted the potential benefits for residents of Tema, explaining that extended operations at the ports would create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the area.
