John Dramani Mahama Concludes #Mahama4Change2024 Tour with Renewed Optimism for Ghana’s Future

John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has successfully concluded his nationwide #Mahama4Change2024 campaign tour.

The final leg of the tour, which took him across all 16 regions of Ghana, ended in the Ejisu constituency of the Ashanti Region, where enthusiastic supporters gathered to hear his vision for the nation.

Throughout the tour, Mr. Mahama shared a consistent message of hope and transformation, emphasizing the NDC’s commitment to addressing the pressing challenges facing Ghanaians.

He called on citizens to decisively reject the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December elections, accusing the current administration of incompetence and a lack of innovative solutions.

Focus on Development and Community Impact

Mr. Mahama expressed strong optimism about the NDC’s chances in the elections, assuring Ghanaians that an NDC government would prioritize development projects that directly benefit communities.

He highlighted the need for infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic policies that uplift ordinary citizens. “Everywhere I go, I see the potential of our people and the untapped opportunities in our communities. The NDC is ready to turn this potential into progress,” he said.

Rebutting Propaganda and Defending Policies

Addressing claims made by the NPP that he plans to cancel the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy if elected, Mr. Mahama categorically dismissed these allegations as baseless propaganda.

He reiterated his commitment to improving and expanding the Free SHS program, not abolishing it. “These accusations are a desperate attempt by the NPP to distract voters from their own failures. We are not here to take away opportunities; we are here to make them better,” he stated.

A Call for Change

John Mahama described the December 7 elections as a defining moment for Ghana, urging voters to embrace change and reject the NPP.

He accused the ruling party of running out of ideas and failing to deliver on its promises, leaving Ghanaians to bear the brunt of poor governance.

“The NPP’s tenure has been marked by broken promises, economic mismanagement, and a lack of vision. It is time for a government that listens to the people and delivers real results,” he added.

Promoting Responsible Mining Practices

During his Western Regional tour, Mr. Mahama addressed the critical issue of small-scale mining, which has significantly impacted Ghana’s environment.

Speaking to residents in Prestea, he emphasized that small-scale mining could be conducted responsibly, without destroying lands and water bodies.

To achieve this, he unveiled plans to establish a Gold Board, modeled after the successful Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod), to regulate and enhance the country’s gold sector.

“Ghana’s gold industry holds immense potential, but it requires a structured and sustainable approach. A Gold Board will ensure responsible practices while maximizing benefits for all,” he said.

Final Rally at Madina

As the campaign nears its climax, the NDC has announced its final rally, set to take place in Madina in the Greater Accra Region.

The event will serve as a platform for the party to make a compelling case to voters.

Mr. Mahama, along with party executives and former leaders, will address the gathering, outlining why Ghanaians should entrust the NDC with their votes.

The rally marks the culmination of months of grassroots engagement and tireless campaigning, with Mr. Mahama urging Ghanaians to choose a future of progress, accountability, and hope.

“This is our time to rebuild and restore Ghana’s dignity. Together, we can achieve the change we deserve,” he declared.

The stage is now set for what promises to be a critical and closely contested election, as Ghanaians prepare to decide their country’s future on December 7.
