Jaime Munguia knocks out John Ryder

It was a bout that holds more than just a physical strength but fighters eyeing up for a dream clash to unsit the reigning middleweight king Canelo Alvarez.

It was a fight full of everything boxing before the fight. Mexican-born Jaime Munguia (now 43 – 0, 34 KOs) took on British National John Ryder in a super middleweight clash.

It was all one sided from the sound of the bell it everything came to an end.
Munguia dominated and dropped Ryder in the second round with a straight right hand. Munguia dropped Ryder three more times, one in round four and two in round nine.

It was all a father and son affair till Ryder’s corner could not bare it anymore and had to ask ringside officials to stop the fight which made them sounded the bell to alert the referee in the ninth round of 1.25

“I prepared for this. I worked hard, I know they don’t trust me and here are the results. I am here at 168.
Ryder is a great fighter, I learned a lot and I’m going forward. He is a very strong fighter, I had to be very careful, he has a very hard head, but now I feel very happy” said Jaime Munguia.

The fight took place at the Footprint Counter in Phoenix, Arizona (America).

This was Munguia’s first fight under is new trainer Freddie Roach and the Tijuana native pressed the fight fight; attacking behind the jabs of the British till the fans could not take it anymore and had to ask the referee to stop.
The fight was presented by Dela Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotion in association with Matchroom Boxing.
