A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress, the NDC, Ivan Kyei Innocent has expressed worry and disappointment over the partisan nature of Ghana’s Parliament and the utter lack of candour on the part of leadership in the house.
According him, the complains by the majority leader of the house that some mp’s have refused to stay home despite testing positive to the coronavirus is preposterous because the same person and his other colleagues in Parliament vehemently attacked Hon. Muntaka when he earlier called for the closure of the house after revealing some members of the house had tested positive coronavirus .
According him, the majority leader by then was privy to the fact that some mp’s had tested positive but was patiently waiting for C.I 126 to mature first.
“He knew Hon. Muntaka’s claims were true but because they had an agenda they attacked him and rubbished his claims, now the majority comes nagging infront of cameras , who is he complaining to ? Me or my mom ? Parliament must be serious, I tell you , these are very dangerous people, they prioritise power and their re-election over the lives of Ghanaians, remember Parliament recently agreed to put the lives of every citizen in danger with this new register thing” Parliament is gradually losing it essence in our drive to attain democratic sanity and development ” he stated.
