It’s very curious and unfortunate to hear from the economic wizard of the New Patriotic Party flag bearer Dr. Mahadu Bawumia maiden political public lecture trying to decouple himself from the failures and severe economic challenges the have plunge the country into.
As the second gentleman of the land it’s very bizarre to hear the Vice President who enjoy the privileged as the acting president in the absence of the president and part of architect of the state and national security and above all the head of the police council saying he was not in charge.
The Member of Parliament for Beum Hon. Kofi Adams said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.
Hon. Kofi Adams opined that; “How come Dr. Bawumia is now downplaying the role of the Economic Management Team and his chairmanship at a time when the full impact of the government’s bad economic policies is adversely impacting the people of Ghana and Ghanaians are facing excruciating hardships?
Why is Dr. Bawumia running away from his role and making it look as though he has something new to offer the people of Ghana?”
“For the record, Dr. Bawumia superintends the Economic Management Team, where all key decisions regarding the national economy are taken.”
“These decisions are then taken to Cabinet, where Dr. Bawumia justifies them with the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for approval,” he said.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has clarified that the Economic Management Team (EMT), over which he presided, lacked decision-making authority.
Going forward the president Nana Addo speaks to his competence and roles since 2016 till to date, it’s very strange today the second gentleman of the land is running away from the mess he has created through the mismanagement of the nations resources, by depleting all the major sectors of the economy.
He reiterated that, the Vice President is just on his usual character traits to lair his way to power and nothing to communicate on to convince Ghanaians.
