It’s never too late: Stop galamsey and save our environment – Archbishop Agyinasare tells leadership.

Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, has made a passionate call for leadership to take decisive action against illegal mining, commonly known as “galamsey,” to preserve the environment.

He highlighted the critical need for ethical governance, using the examples of the Lena River in Russia and the Yukon River in Canada. These rivers, despite being located in mineral-rich regions, remain clean because leadership in those countries prioritizes law, ethics, and the prosperity of future generations.

Agyinasare lamented that, in contrast, Ghana permits destructive mining practices in rivers, forests, and lands due to a lack of respect for environmental ethics.

He emphasized that the failure to consider future generations has allowed both local and foreign entities to exploit and destroy Ghana’s natural resources.

The archbishop urged the country’s leaders to act responsibly and urgently to halt galamsey, warning that future generations will hold them accountable for the damage caused by inaction.
