It’s All Over For Team Ghana In The Olympics As Men’s 4x100m Relay Team Fails To Qualify

Ghana’s hopes for a medal at the Olympic Games were ruined as the men’s 4x100m relay team failed to qualify for the final due to poor change of baton.

The team, which had shown promise leading up to the event, faced fierce competition and struggled to keep pace when Abdul Rasheed Saminu failed to hand-over the baton properly to Benjamin Azamati which lead to the disqualification of the team after finishing 6th position.

The race was a highly anticipated event for Ghana, with many fans pinning their hopes on the relay team to bring home a medal. However, despite their best efforts, the team could not secure a spot in the final round, finishing outside the qualifying positions.

The disappointment was palpable, as the relay team had been one of the last remaining hopes for Ghana in this year’s Olympics. Their exit marks the end of Ghana’s campaign in the Games, leaving the nation without a medal once again.

Joselle Alice Mensah also narrowly missed out on a semi-final berth despite impressing in the Women’s 50m Freestyle, where she placed fourth with a time of 26.81.

The reigning African high jumper champion , Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah who was tasked with clearing the 1.92m bar to give herself a chance of progressing to the finals , failed to although the target was below her personal best of 1.97m, she failed in all three of her attempts to clear the bar, leading to her elimination.

In the 100m, Benjamin Azamati and Abdul Rashee Saminu gave a good account of themselves by reaching the semi-finals but their efforts weren’t good enough to secure their places in the finals after finishing 9th position making a time of 10.17 and 7th position making a time of 10.05 respectively.

Ghana’s time at the Olympics has come to an end with unsuccessful attempt by the relay team to make the finals .
