Ghanaian music star Kuami Eugene has opened up about his ongoing misunderstanding with music duo DopeNation, describing the situation as a case of “friendly banter” that unexpectedly escalated.
Speaking in an interview with Kula, popularly known as the Headless YouTuber, the former Lynx Entertainment artiste said he never imagined his comments would spark such a strong reaction.
According to Kuami Eugene, he expected the issue to fade away naturally after some time.
“I was expecting us to move on,” he stated.
The award-winning singer admitted that his remarks may have come across differently than he intended and acknowledged that the situation grew beyond what he had anticipated.
“If I knew it would get to this extent, I wouldn’t have said it in the first place,” he confessed.
Despite expressing regret over how events unfolded, Kuami Eugene made it clear that he is not planning to issue a formal apology.
“They should calm down. I don’t hate them in any way,” he said.
When asked directly whether he would apologise to DopeNation, the singer responded firmly:
“I’m not even apologising. I’m just saying that they should calm down.”
However, Kuami Eugene indicated that he remains open to resolving the matter privately and would welcome an opportunity to meet the duo face-to-face to discuss the issue amicably.
Many are hoping the two musical acts can put their differences behind them and restore their once cordial relationship.
