Social and political activist Mr. Ivan Kyei Innocent has questioned the competence of President Akufo-Addo, criticizing what he described as clueless and irresponsible leadership. Speaking to Alaska on Ahotor FM’s After Political Show, Kyei Innocent expressed his disbelief at the worsening situation under a president who had promised to protect the state’s purse and care for the ordinary Ghanaian.
“Sometimes you just want to find out whether Akufo-Addo is running Ghana with a school certificate or a driver’s license because he’s so incompetent and clueless,” he questioned.
Commenting on the issue of illegal mining (galamsey), Ivan singled out the MP for Nsawam, Hon. Annor Dompreh, for his recent remarks in parliament. According to Ivan, parliament is gradually losing its relevance due to the influx of individuals who lack the intellectual capacity to address the many social issues confronting the people. He further blamed the galamsey menace on President Akufo-Addo’s lack of leadership and dishonesty.
“If anyone is to be blamed for this galamsey nonsense, blame the president. He is solely responsible for what’s happening, and he cannot be trusted. Look! Chinese nationals have been brought here in large numbers just to destroy our forests in the name of galamsey, and they were brought in by officials in power,” he asserted.
According to Mr. Kyei, taking the president seriously is at your own peril.
