The Ministry of the Interior has strongly refuted claims circulating on social media that certain individuals, including pastors, have been granted special privileges to bypass security checks. In an official statement issued by its Public Affairs and Communications Unit, the Ministry labeled these allegations as “baseless, entirely false, and should be disregarded immediately.”
Misinformation Threatens National Security
Expressing deep concern over the spread of such misinformation, the Ministry warned that false narratives of this nature undermine public trust and national security. It emphasized that no individual, regardless of status or profession, is exempt from standard security protocols.
“The Ministry of the Interior wishes to state categorically that these claims are baseless, entirely false, and should be disregarded immediately. Security procedures apply uniformly to all individuals, without exception.”
Commitment to National Security and Public Safety
Reaffirming its commitment to upholding law and order, the Ministry assured the public that security protocols remain strict and impartial, ensuring the safety of all citizens. It urged the public to exercise caution and verify information through official channels before sharing it, to prevent the spread of falsehoods.
Furthermore, the Ministry issued a stern warning against the misuse of its name for criminal activities or misinformation, urging Ghanaians to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
Call for Public Vigilance
As part of its commitment to transparency, the Ministry pledged to provide accurate updates on security measures and policies when necessary. It called on citizens to remain vigilant, avoid misinformation, and work together to protect national security.
