During his inaugural working visit to the GIS, Muntaka Mubarak unveiled ambitious plans to modernize security services, leveraging innovative public-private partnerships (PPP) and cutting-edge technology to enhance operational efficiency.
A key aspect of this overhaul is the impending elimination of cash transactions across all agencies under the Ministry of Interior, a move designed to bolster transparency and streamline operations. Acknowledging the funding challenges that have long hindered the GIS, Muntaka Mubarak underscored the imperative of forging strategic partnerships to augment service delivery.
“We will be exploring opportunities to collaborate with private entities, whether profit or non-profit, to enhance the services within the Ministry of Interior,” he stated, reassuring that any PPP initiatives would be meticulously structured to safeguard national security.
Muntaka Mubarak also exhorted immigration officers to remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting Ghana’s borders and supporting the government’s broader development agenda. This call to action underscores the critical role that the GIS plays in maintaining national security and promoting economic development.
