Interior Minister Lifts Curfew in Bole and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba

The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka-Mubarak, has lifted the curfew imposed on Bole township and its surrounding communities in the Savannah Region. The decision, announced on Monday, December 8, took immediate effect.

According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, the curfew was lifted following improvements in the security situation and the restoration of calm in the area. The Minister’s action was based on recommendations from the Savannah Regional Security Council (REGSEC).

In a similar move, the Minister has also lifted the curfew in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba township and its environs, acting once again on the advice of REGSEC. This decision also took effect immediately.

Government is urging Chiefs, opinion leaders, youth groups, and residents in the affected communities to continue to exercise restraint and to prioritize peaceful and non-violent approaches in addressing local challenges.
