Interbank Market: Cedi depreciates slightly against the dollar

 

 

 

Ghana’s local currency, the cedi, has depreciated against major currencies, notably the US dollar.

As of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Bank of Ghana reports the cedi trading at GH₵10.94 to the US dollar.

With the 2026 national budget presentation fast approaching,  market watchers are keen to see how the government’s fiscal strategy will shape the cedi’s trajectory, particularly in relation to the US dollar during the 2026 budget presentation scheduled to Thursday, November 13,2025.

According to its daily update, the cedi’s buying price is GH₵10.94, with a selling price of GH₵10.95 per US dollar. The British pound is bought at GH₵14.41 and sold at GH₵14.43, while the euro trades at GH₵12.64 for buying and GH₵12.70 for selling.

On November 12, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., some forex bureaus across the country quoted the cedi buying at GH₵11.75 and selling at GH₵12.20 against the dollar.

The pound was buying at GH₵15.40 and selling at GH₵16.10, and the euro was buying at GH₵13.40 and selling at GH₵14.20 on the retail market.
