Laporta looks too confident about his ability to convince Messi to stay at Barca.
“I’m going to make an offer you won’t be able to refuse. You look well, good luck!” Joan Laporta said on a recent TV3 programme when asked what would he say to Lionel Messi if the Barcelona captain was in front of him.
The Argentine won’t renew his contract with the Blaugrana until the end of the season. It’ll be up to a new Barca president to convince the 33-year-old to stay at Camp Nou beyond the summer.
Laporta is very aware of the fact that it’ll be ‘difficult‘ to compete with Paris Saint-Germain and Man City in terms of the money that they can offer to Leo. Nevertheless, the presidential hopeful remains positive on Messi’s long-term stay at Barca in case of his win in the upcoming election.
