Illegal mining: Aisha Huang’s issue is political – Dr Solomon Owusu

A Ghanaian born mining engineer residing at Colorado, Dr Solomon Owusu has stated that Aisha Huang  is political

He indicated that, the Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo in 2019 saying jailing Aisha Huang will not solve our economic problems is very unfortunate

“I questioned the senior minister, Osafo Marfo on April 2019 at Washington DC as to why we didn’t jail Aisha Huang and he said jailing that lady will not solve our economic problems. Like seriously? Someone who has destroyed 10billion worth of our lands and water? Because of 2billion synohydro you are quite about it?”

“Again on September 20th, 2019 at New Jersey, I questioned the president, Nana Akufo Addo and he admitted It was a mistake they freed Aisha Huang”

In an interview with the media, he questioned the evidence available to show Aisha Huang was truly deported as we told. He stressed that, he don’t think that she was not deported

His comment followed the news that broke out that, Aisha Huang, a ‘galamsey kingpin’s who was deported in 2018 is back in Ghana and has been re-arrested for engaging in illegal mining

She has been slapped with two charges which are; mining without license, engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without a valid license

She was arrested with three others – Johng Li Hua, Huang Jei and Huaiad Hai Hun

Aisha Huang and her accomplices were brought before an Accra Circuit Court last Friday

The Court presided by Samuel Bright Acquah has therefore remanded them into lawful custody to reappear on September 14

Meanwhile, there are rife concerns about how she managed to return to Ghana after the controversial circumstances of her deportation a few years ago
