“If Kotoko underrates Vision, they do so at their own peril” – Vision FC manager Nana Kwaku Agyemang warns

Debutants Vision FC will end their first round of the Ghana Premier League with a daunting away game against record holders Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on Sunday and the manager of the side has issued a compelling warning to his hosts ahead of the game.

Vision have had a mixed bag of results in their last five games winning two, drawing an equal number and losing the other. (2-0 defeat to Gold Stars, 3-2 win against Medeama, 1-1 all to Young Apostles and Karela United and 1-0 win against reigning FA Cup champions, Nsoatreman)

Nana Kwaku Agyemang’s side have been poor on the road having picked just 1 win from eight games conceding ten goals and scoring just half of it but he is with an all-time optimism that his side will pick the victory on Sunday against his opponent should they underrate Vision.

Speaking ahead of the game, the confident-brimmed coach said:

“Playing against Kotoko is a huge motivation. For my lads, the challenge itself is exciting, and we’re ready to make the most of it”

“For me, I think the team that is complacent is going to lose this game. Vision has nothing to lose. We are the underdogs, but we are coming in with what we know, what we have, and every ammunition that we’ve got to take three points. If Kotoko underrates Vision, they do so at their own peril”, he added.

The Accra based side have scored at least two goals in just two games (2-0 against Accra Lions in September, 3-2 against Medeama in December). They either wont score at all or put in just one goal as their best in the other fourteen games reflecting how poor the club’s striking ability is. (0.75 goal/per game). Vision have also conceded fifteen goals from sixteen games occupying 11th on the log.

Asante Kotoko are on a five-game unbeaten run spanning from Novermber 24, 2024 winning four, drawing one and scoring eight in the process and coach Ogum’s men are hoping to maintain their near perfect form to the end the first round on a flying note.

Kick off is at 15:00GMT on Sunday, January 19, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
