
Reports reach AhotorSports suggest former Accra Lions coach Ibrahim Tanko is ready to join premier league side Ibrahim Tanko just a few weeks staying out of active management.
Ibrahim Tanko, who joined Accra Lions in 2022, led the team to a second-place finish in the Ghana Premier League 2023/2024 season left Lions citing focusing personal projects to move away from the club.
“I leave the role with immense pride, knowing that Accra Lions is more than just a club ”it is family, While I am stepping away to focus on other projects, my bond with the team remains strong, and I will always be available to support the club in any way.”, Tanko in December.
He left Accra Lions in 16th place in the Ghana Premier League after 16 matches where the team had won just two games, drawn seven, and lost another seven.
The Tarkwa based club has been without a head coach after they parting ways with Bosnia trainer Nebojsa Kapor in the first round campaign after contract expiration. Technical director Evans Adotey has been supervising the last few games.
Medeama aim to strike a deal with Ibrahim Tanko, who has immense experience in the league and will hope to get the club back in contention for the league title. They are in seventh position on the log with 26 points from 18 games.
