Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Sofo Kyiriabosom, the flagbearer for the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has stated that if elected president on December 7, he will evict President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo from his father’s house in Nima, Accra.
He criticized the president for still living in his father’s house at his age, claiming it shows a lack of vision.
According to Sofo Kyiriabosom, the land on which the house was built actually belongs to the Nima Police Service, and President Akufo Addo’s father, who was in power at the time, failed to compensate them for the land.
He asserted that the property does not officially belong to the Akufo Addo family.
In an interview, Sofo Kyiriabosom said he has video evidence of the old Nima police station to back up his claims and intends to use the land for the station’s expansion when he comes to power.
He questioned why elected officials are provided with state accommodations, suggesting it implies they had no personal financial means.
He called on politicians to use their salaries to improve their own lives rather than depending on the country for survival.
