TEMA, Ghana, 22nd October: The Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing its members as evil and accusing the party of creating serious problems for Ghana during its time in government.
According to him, the NPP’s actions and policies have negatively affected the country, particularly workers, and he has no intention of remaining silent about what he considers the party’s failures.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem programme on Thursday, October 22, Mr. Koomson said he would never stop mentioning the NPP because of the damage he believes it has caused the country.
He accused the party of failing to prioritise Ghana’s development and questioned its moral authority to seek another mandate from Ghanaians after leaving office.
Abraham Koomson also called on the government to pursue individuals suspected of corruption and other financial wrongdoing under the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.
He argued that those who allegedly misappropriated state resources or caused financial losses to the country must be held accountable, regardless of their political affiliation.
The GFL Secretary-General further accused the NPP of introducing policies that created difficulties for workers, insisting that the party must answer for its record in government before asking Ghanaians to return it to power.
He questioned the party’s campaign to regain power, asking: “For what?”
Abraham Koomson also challenged the NPP to account for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, who has been outside Ghana since the change of government and has faced scrutiny over matters relating to his tenure in office.
He argued that the party’s criticism of the current administration lacked moral authority while questions surrounding the former finance minister remained unresolved.
Abraham Koomson urged the government to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone found to have looted public resources or caused financial losses to the state.
He maintained that individuals accused of wrongdoing under the previous administration should not be allowed to evade accountability while their political associates criticise the government.
His comments add to the ongoing political debate over accountability, alleged corruption and the recovery of public funds following the change of government.
