I WILL MAKE XI WONDERS GREAT – YAHAYA COMMEY

One of the finest football administrators in Ghana is Mr Albert Yahaya Commey who has worked with Hearts, Medeama, Aduana and currently IX Wonders in various capacities. Since his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of the Techiman based club, they are yet to complete a full football season due to force majeure in different circumstances.

The astute football administrator has revealed that his aim is to make Wonders a great club and are putting in place all the necessary plans to drive the club to the highest level and ready for the challenge.

“I will work hard for Wonders because I’m a kind of person who likes collective work, making sure people I work with understand what I have for them. As a good leader you also need  a servant spirit and that’s the secret behind my success in every club I have worked with”
” I don’t believe in big names and we don’t have enough money to buy big players but Techiman IX Wonders with a team work, we will perform better because we also have some experience players”

With less than a week to begin the Ghana Premier League, Yahaya Commey believes the team will not be relegated as some fans claim.

” People should remove Wonders from relegation list because we have the qualities to remain in the league”

The Executive Council member is very positive ahead of the new season and urged all club owners to advise their teaming fans to enable a conducive atmosphere in our various league centres.

” New season is coming, club owners should keep on educating their supporters against Stadium Hooliganism and should hand-over people who involve in such act to law makers rather than defending them”
“Apart from Hearts Of Oak, whereby I couldn’t face enough challenges  the remaining teams including Wonders have given me a tough challenges because the facilities were not enough but because it’s my job, I prefer not to speak but rather work to bring success and that’s my mentality”

Last month, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) drew Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast in the same group for the qualification for the CAF U20 championship in Mauritania.
Although a tough group and Ghana being a powerhouse in African football, Mr Commey is optimistic that Ghana will qualify from the group.

“I became so excited when I saw the draw, this will even help us to prepare better and prevent us from underrating other teams”
” We’re preparing seriously ahead of the tournament and the friendly games proves something special. Our plan is to qualify from the group and we can do that by winning our matches”

Ghanaians can count on us because we’re already determined to qualify from the group Mr Commey added.
