One of the longest serving players ever to play and helped Karela United during their promotion into the Elite Division was Goalkeeper Isaac Hagan. The former player’s dedication and commitment was rewarded with the captaincy of the Ayinase based club.
Hagan, who is arguably one of the best netminders in the league has voiced out his displeasure about how he was treated at his club last season and feels very disappointed about what transpired. In an interview on West FM, the goalkeeper explained how he got injured during last season’s preseason game at Prampram and felt neglected by Management of the club.
” Last season, I had an injury during our pre season at Prampram and I was told to see the U20 medical team but later referred to hospital because the doctor discovered that my condition wasn’t good to start the season”, he explained.
“During that difficult time, the management of Karela refused to look after me, I tried several times to ask them for financial support but they told me they are in financial challenges. They only paid my salaries but refused to support my hospital bills which was Gh¢83,400 and with little savings and support from my family I was able to settle all my bills”
” I decided not to talk about such issues but what pains me most was that they tried to explained my health issues in public which to me isn’t good for a team like Karela to do”
” I decided to stay with them but when my contract ran out in December, they refused to approach me”
“I’m very much grateful to all the Supporters who showed much love to me when I was in sick bed but don’t think I will join the team again”
According to multiple reports, the Goalkeeper is set to join Aduana Stars for the coming season.
