I never daydream about getting married unlike other young girls – Nancy Isime

Nigerian actress Nancy Isime recently expressed her perspective on marriage, emphasizing her dedication to financial independence and career success. During an interview on the Creativitea Live with Lynda podcast, Isime revealed that, unlike many young girls who often daydream about their weddings, she has always prioritized building her career and achieving self-sufficiency. Isime shared, “I’ve always seen myself working.

I say this to a few people, but when young girls sit down and daydream about getting married, I never did. I used to daydream about working, making my own money, and being independent.”

Her focus on work and financial stability has remained steadfast, and she expressed her apprehension about the prospect of a dream wedding, questioning its significance in the context of her aspirations.

She emphasized that any future marriage would be defined by mutual agreement and the couple’s respective circumstances.

Reflecting on her childhood and upbringing, Isime attributed her strong inclination towards financial independence to her humble background, where there was often a scarcity of money.

She explained, “I’ve always been that child who saw myself having my own money. Maybe because I came from a humble background where asking for anything was almost taboo.” Her resolve to create her own financial security was born from a childhood marked by financial constraints. Isime underscored that her current priority is centred on achieving financial independence and creating her desired lifestyle.

She stressed, “I’m such a believer in spending on myself; I spend on myself so much that nobody can take the position of ‘if not me, you won’t have this life.'”

Her candid remarks highlight her unwavering commitment to building a successful career and achieving financial autonomy, imprinting a powerful narrative of self-reliance and determination.
