Kwesi Poku Bosompem, the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema West Constituency, has praised Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for his contributions to the development of the area.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem’ with host Citizen Kofi Owusu, Bosompem highlighted Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s significant impact on Tema West.
He noted that Ofosu-Ampofo nearly won the Tema West seat for the NDC in the 2012 elections due to his developmental efforts, and even some NPP members voted for him because of his accomplishments.
During his appearance on the show, Mr. Bosompem expressed confidence that the NPP would retain the Tema West seat.
He asserted that the current NDC Parliamentary Candidate, James Enu, stands no chance against the NPP’s candidate, Dennis Amfo Sefa, in the 2024 elections.
However, this view was contested by Joseph Awuku, the NDC Communications Officer for the Ashaiman Constituency.
Joseph Awuku argued that the NPP has failed to develop Tema West and that voters have no reason to support them again.
The debate highlighted contrasting opinions on the development and political future of the Tema West Constituency.
