Ghanaian Dancehall artist Shatta Wale recently claimed that by the age of 14, he had saved an impressive GH¢750,000 in his bank account. During an interview on the “Rants, Bants, and Confession” podcast released on October 31, 2024, he shared that his father, who was quite well-off, provided him with foreign currency for his daily needs. “I started saving at 14 as a rich kid,” Shatta Wale explained. “I went to Prudential Bank and told them I was 18.
My dad used to give me pounds and dollars for my daily expenses, which is how I ended up saving seven hundred and fifty thousand cedis.” He noted that he rarely had to purchase anything himself since his father covered all his expenses. “I was fine; I didn’t need to buy anything because he took care of my clothing.
There was a time I drove to the bank when my dad wasn’t around, and the bank manager knew I wasn’t actually 18,” he recalled. Later, Shatta Wale mentioned that he faced financial difficulties and forgotten about the money he saved. “When I became broke, I realized I had completely overlooked that money in Prudential Bank,” he said. “It was only after my Bandana days that I remembered.
When I contacted the bank, they told me my name wasn’t in their system, so I couldn’t retrieve it.” In another recent claim, Shatta Wale announced that he made GH¢1.5 million from betting in a single month. In a post on X, he shared a screen recording of his earnings and wrote,
“I’ve made over 1.5 million ghc on the Betway app just last month… You can call them since you all like to challenge me foolishly 😂😂😂😂 Enjoy.” His post quickly garnered attention, with many followers reacting to the significant amount he claimed to have earned.
