Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama Mcbrown has revealed that she holds a strong bias in favor of her home country, Ghana, and therefore prioritizes working on Ghanaian projects over those from other countries.
She emphasized her commitment to Ghanaian artists and the local entertainment industry, citing a strong rapport with Ghanaian musicians as one of the reasons behind her decision to not engage with Nigerian content
During an episode of her show, Onua Showtime, Nana Ama McBrown shared her thoughts, shedding light on her personal stance. She explained that her avoidance of Nigerian music on social media stems from her belief that promoting Nigerian music would be tantamount to betraying Ghanaian artistes whom she deeply respects and supports.
One poignant example she shared was her experience while watching Big Brother Naija. Upon hearing Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s song being played at the event, she felt compelled to dance to it.
However, her enthusiasm was short-lived as the DJ abruptly stopped playing the song, leading her to conclude that she inadvertently engages in subtle conflicts with her Nigerian counterparts due to her unwavering allegiance to Ghana.
Nana Ama McBrown’s principled stance against featuring in Nollywood movies is deeply rooted in her love and loyalty towards her home country. Her commitment to promoting and supporting the Ghanaian entertainment industry remains unwavering, and she continues to champion the talents and achievements of her fellow Ghanaian artists.
