Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC, in the Tema East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, and a former Mayor of Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) Hon. Isaac Ashai Odamptten has remarked on Ahotor fm magazine programme, dubbed Adekye Mu Nsem, that all is set for his arrival in Ghana, from the US and hits the ground running following his absent from the country to pursue a fresher course in the United State Of America (USA).
The former mayor through whose ambitious transformation agenda and innovations Tema witnessed numerous facelifts development under his reign as mayor is considered a huge favourite to win the Tema East Parliamentary seat, which is currently in the grip of the NPP’s Hon. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, the deputy minister for Transport.
Mr. Odamptten after emerging winner during the parliamentary primaries held by the NDC in 2019, left the shores of the country to the United State Of America to study, amidst residual explanations to buttress his claims in that vein.
Furthermore, Hon. Odamptten noted that, the guest, to study Abroad has been in the ‘pipeline’ long before being declared as the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NDC.
His continuous stay, and absence in the US , has occasion some members in the NDC of the Constituency have express reservations that, if indeed Hon. Odamptten is ready to annex the seat from the NPP, he must show resilient and return to the country without delay, since the NDC appears to be loosing steam and touch within the constituency, ahead of the December Polls.
Similarly, Political pundits emphasized that the absence by the NDC’s enigmatic candidate seem to give leeway to the NPP because the party( NPP) has not yet elected a candidate to represent them (NPP) for the general Polls, but the ruling party seems to enjoy some level of good will from the electorates by virtue of the visibility of the MP for the area, Hon Titus Glover.
However responding to these issues on ahotor fm, and unearthing challanges within the Tema East Constituency on Monday , Hon. Ashai Odamptten, said to Citizen Kofi, that he shares in the sentiment expressed and the genuine concerns by the constituency executives and that plans are far advance to revert to Ghana to continue with his candidacy duties for the 2020 elections respectively.
Resenting to earlier concerns which suggested that, the NDC appears dormant in the constituency, due to his absence, the former Mayor corroborated in the affirmative, and opine that, he has a hardworking and dedicated constituency executives who have been able to ignite the flames of victory in the party for 2020. He also lauded them for remaining resolute to the idles of the party.
” am assuring all my constituents and the entire NDC fraternity in Tema East, that will be with them latest by close of March, i mean soon ” He added !
“Though am aware of the vacuum created over my absence, i will soon touch base with my hardworking executives to continue the journey to recapture the seat, and also assist Former President Mahama, to win his bid as President for 2020” he stressed !
Hon. Ashai Odamptten revealed on adekye mu nsem, that he is aware of the enormity of the task ahead and that he is prepared to assume any unforeseen challenges in order to bring about the needed change which is desired by the good people in Tema East Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the greater Accra region.
