Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, a private legal practitioner is disappointed in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his earlier decision to settle the misunderstanding between himself and the Chief of Kpone.
Speaking on a Kumasi-based TV, the lawyer said, “the chief of Kpone should have listened to the advise of Otumfour Osei Tutu II said to all chiefs that they should desist from partisan politics. He didn’t listen to advise but rather chose to do partisan politics. We have NPP and NDC supporters in Kpone and the chief will lose respect from his own people”.
He opined that president Akufo-Addo is the first gentleman of the land and he should have been given the necessary respect by the Kpone chief.
He stated that the chief should have used the opportunity given to him by Nana Akufo-Addo to demand for something good for his area.
“Everything is under the President if the chief doesn’t know. The president shares the resources of the nation. The chief should have used the opportunity of president visiting him to lobby something for his town.
According to BroadcastGhana, Lawyer Ampaw further stated that he was disappointed in Akufo-Addo for his decision at that time to settle the misunderstanding between him and the chief.
“I’m really disappointed in the President. I would have left the chief and go if I was the President. He should have respected the President. People in the country respect chiefs therefore the chiefs must also respect the President”, he said.
