The Ghana premier league has been the foundation of most ghanaian footballers to stardom and achieve their European ambitions. You start in the local league, build yourself and move to Europe for greener pastures. This is the normal routine.
A few players never tasted the local league before moving abroad and some either come back to relaunch their careers or return home to retire after an illustrious career.
Black Stars and former Levante forward Emmanuel Takyie Boateng has voiced out his love and affection for Hearts of Oak and his dream of playing for the club before ending his professional career one day.
The Dalian forward claims that he has been a fan of the Oak Tree since childhood and will hope to retire there one day should the opportunity present itself. To him, grabbing the opportunity in the future will be a dream come true since he is a fan and has always been his wish to play for the club one day before retirement.
“I love Hearts of Oak. I have being a fan of the club since childhood and will love to play for them one day before I retire”
“When I was a kid, it was the team I always followed and didn’t want to hear they lost a game. If the opportunity presents itself one day, I will play for them without hesitating”, Boateng said.
The Accra based club has not won the league for more than a decade and are hoping to win this year’s league to appease the fans having replaced their head coach Edward Nii Odoom with Kostadin Papic.
This is the second coming of the Serbian tactician after leaving the club in 2009 due to some misunderstanding between the management.
