The President of the Professionals Forum of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Ambassador to Sri Lanka and India, Hon. Sam Pee Yalley, has expressed his satisfaction with the National Economic Dialogue held yesterday at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Speaking to Citizen Kofi Owusu, Hon. Sam Pee Yalley highlighted two key takeaways from the event, which, according to him, demonstrate former President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to fulfilling his promises to Ghanaians.
“Yesterday, I identified two important things,” he said. “First, President Mahama has shown that he is true to his word and has kept his social contract with Ghanaians. He promised that within 120 days, this Economic Forum and the Education Forum would take place, and he has delivered on that.”
Hon. Sam Pee Yalley further commended Mahama’s strong sense of leadership, emphasizing its importance in addressing Ghana’s current challenges. “Leadership is something we have lost in this country for a long time, and that is why we are where we are now. When John Dramani Mahama says he will do something, you can trust him because he delivers. For instance, when he promised to fix ‘dumsor,’ he did it,” he stated.
Reflecting on the former president’s renewed focus on tackling Ghana’s economic challenges, Hon. Yalley expressed confidence in Mahama’s ability to turn things around. “Now that he has acknowledged the poor state of the economy, I believe he will take decisive action to fix it. He has demonstrated the political will and determination to lead, and I trust that he will not falter in delivering on his commitments,” he added.
Hon. Sam Pee Yalley concluded by affirming his belief in Mahama’s leadership qualities, describing him as a leader with the vision and capacity to steer the country toward economic recovery and prosperity. “This is the kind of leadership we need—a leadership that inspires confidence and takes action to resolve the nation’s challenges,” he said.
The National Economic Dialogue, which brought together various stakeholders, continues to draw attention as Ghanaians look forward to solutions that will revitalize the country’s economy.
