Hon Patrick Boamah urges Black Stars to Reach New Heights
Okaikwei Central MP Patrick Yaw Boamah has challenged the Black Stars to reclaim their former glory and reach the impressive levels that took them to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
This call to action comes despite Ghana’s recent back-to-back victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they dominated Madagascar with a 3-0 win and crushed Chad 5-0 in Accra.
Boamah emphasized the need for the team to strive for excellence, stating, “We want our national team at the levels that took us to the last 8 in 2010.
That is where we want our national team to be we encourage them to play better and to be at the level that will gladden the hearts of Ghanaians” This urging was made on the floor of Parliament, as the MP reacted to Ghana’s recent wins.
The Black Stars’ recent performances have been impressive, with Thomas Partey scoring twice and Mohammed Kudus adding another goal in their 3-0 win over Madagascar.
The team will now take a break, with players rejoining their clubs before the qualifiers resume in September ¹.
