Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe Empowers Youth: Invests GHC 100,000 in Catfish Business of GIMPA Student

In a remarkable gesture aimed at empowering youth and promoting entrepreneurship, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has invested GHC 100,000 into the catfish farming business of a final-year student at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The beneficiary, a Level 400 Business Administration student, has been managing a small-scale catfish farming venture alongside his academic work. His dedication to agribusiness and sustainable food production drew the

attention of the MP during a recent youth engagement session in Accra. Impressed by the student’s entrepreneurial drive and well-structured business plan, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe pledged her full support. This culminated in a direct cash investment to help scale the business and generate employment opportunities for other young people.

“This is more than just financial support; it’s a statement that the youth of Ghana are capable of building thriving businesses when given the right opportunities,” the MP stated. “We must invest in their dreams if we want to secure the future of our country.”

According to the student, the funds will be used to expand his fish ponds, improve feed supply, enhance water quality systems, and acquire additional fingerlings to meet increasing market demand. He expressed profound gratitude to the MP, describing her intervention as “a life-changing breakthrough” that will not only boost his business but also inspire his peers.

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, widely known for her philanthropic work and commitment to youth development, emphasized the importance of policy direction and public-private partnerships to support young people in agribusiness.
