The Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Hon Haruna Mohammed, recently celebrated Farmer’s Day with the district at Kasapin in the Ahafo Region.
The event brought together hardworking farmers, stakeholders, and government officials to recognize the contributions of farmers to Ghana’s agricultural sector.
During his speech, Hon Haruna Mohammed highlighted key government initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, including Feed Ghana and Nkokentekente.
He also mentioned the free fertilizer distribution program, scholarship opportunities for children of cocoa farmers, and the government’s assurance of fair benefits for farmers when cocoa prices rise.

As a gesture of support, Hon Haruna Mohammed presented 10 bags of NPK fertilizer to each of the 30 awardees, recognizing their hard work and dedication to farming. He also prayed for the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, seeking God’s guidance and strength as he leads the sector.
The event reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector and its stakeholders. Hon Haruna Mohammed’s participation demonstrated his dedication to supporting farmers and promoting agricultural growth in the Ahafo Region.
