Hohoe United FC has received a significant disciplinary penalty from the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee following incidents that occurred during their Ghana Premier League encounter against Vision FC.
The club has been slapped with a three-match home ban, meaning their next three home fixtures in the league must be played away from their usual venue or without home crowd advantage, effective immediately upon the announcement of the ruling.
In addition to this restriction, Hohoe United has been ordered to pay a substantial fine of GHS 30,000, with the payment required within fourteen days from the date they were formally notified of the decision. Alongside these punishments, the club has also been issued a formal warning by the committee.

The sanctions stem from the committee’s finding that Hohoe United failed in its responsibility to maintain proper order and security at the match. Specifically, the club did not adequately ensure the safety and protection of the match officials, permitted unauthorized individuals to enter restricted areas where access is strictly controlled, and allowed unacceptable conduct from its supporters.
This inappropriate behavior included instances where fans threw objects onto the pitch, creating a disruptive and potentially dangerous environment for everyone involved in the game.
The GFA Disciplinary Committee has made it clear that this is not a light matter, emphasizing the importance of clubs upholding standards of conduct, security, and respect for officials and participants. As part of the ruling, Hohoe United FC has been strongly cautioned that any recurrence of similar misconduct or breaches in the future will lead to far more stringent penalties, which could include heavier fines, longer bans, points deductions, or other escalated measures as deemed appropriate under the GFA regulations.
This serves as a stern reminder to the club and its supporters to prioritize discipline and responsibility moving forward in the ongoing league campaign.
