The Ho Teaching Hospital has inaugurated a seven-member management team after its transformation from a Regional Hospital to a Teaching Hospital.
The team as announced by the Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang-Manu include: Dr. John Tampouri (Ag. CEO), Dr. Lord Mensa (Ag. Director of Clinical Affairs), Dr. John Korkuvi (Ag. Director of Pharmacy Services) and Rejoice Blebu (Ag. Director of Administration).
The rest are: Innocentia Gbogblogbe (Ag. Director of Nursing), Dr. Richard Kuagbenu (Ag. Director of Finance) and Prof. Harry Tagbor (Dean of Medicine).
Mr Agyemang-Manu in his address at the inaugural ceremony said work is in progress to acquire new equipment for the hospital as well as repair old ones. He also alluded to the fact that resourcing the hospital will go a long way to decongesting the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital since patients will not need to travel to Accra for treatment.
He also assured the public that there are plans in place to strengthen the capacity of the teaching staff as well as the human resource capacity of the facility.
The hospital, which is the fifth in the country to assume a teaching hospital status, serves as a teaching hospital to the University of Health and Allied Sciences, which was established in 2011.
