HIV is dangerous: Don’t be shy about buying condoms to protect yourself – Jennifer Queen.

Jennifer Queen, Deputy National Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to prioritize safe sex practices by using condoms, emphasizing the serious threat posed by HIV.

She advised against being embarrassed to buy condoms, reminding people that HIV is lifelong and can have severe consequences.

In an interview, Queen highlighted a common misconception—that individual fully “own” their partners, leading them to neglect protective measures.

She stressed that once HIV enters the body, it remains, so it’s essential to avoid taking risks with one’s health. She particularly cautioned the youth to be vigilant, urging them to carefully consider their choices to prevent exposure to the virus.

Queen also noted that antiretroviral drugs allow people with HIV to look healthy, which can sometimes lead others to underestimate the risks. She advised those without HIV to be cautious and not to assume that everyone who looks well is free of the virus.

Queen added that individuals should consider the challenges of obtaining free HIV medications, underscoring the importance of being mindful when choosing partners to avoid being misled.
