Ghanaian entertainment pundit Sally Mann has stirred conversation with her bold take on who truly deserves to win the coveted Artist of the Year title at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Speaking on the matter, she firmly dismissed King Paluta’s chances, citing his lack of branding and industry influence.

According to Sally Mann, the Makoma hitmaker has not built a recognizable or impactful brand that rivals the likes of Stonebwoy or King Promise. “King Paluta is not an artist with a solid fanbase,” she claimed. “If he had one, he would’ve organized his own concert by now. Instead, his team is calling stakeholders to simply give his music a listen.”

She further explained that previous winners like Stonebwoy stood out not just because of hit songs but due to their strong branding and consistent delivery. Referring to Stonebwoy’s three-time win—citing data dating back to 2019—Sally highlighted that achievements like his come from strategic artistry and solid market presence.

“Artists with established brands go the extra mile to impress and engage their audience,” she said. “King Paluta hasn’t done that. He’s just a hungry rapper Ghanaians are giving a shot—but he’s not winning Artist of the Year.”

She also acknowledged Sarkodie’s legendary status as a reason for his inclusion in the top category, reinforcing that longevity, branding, and consistency are key criteria for such honors.
