Hearts of Oak Still in Title Race – Benjamin Asare Eyes Premier League Glory

Benjamin Asare has reiterated Hearts of Oak’s belief that they remain firmly in the hunt for the Ghana Premier League title following a crucial victory in the Super Clash.

The Phobians strengthened their credentials with a gritty 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, a result that injected fresh momentum into their 2025/26 campaign.

A decisive first-half header from Baba Adamu settled the contest, trimming the gap on leaders Medeama SC and intensifying the race at the top of the table.

Speaking after the match, goalkeeper Benjamin Asare expressed optimism about Hearts’ title prospects.

“Yes, anyone can still win it. When you look at the top four or five teams, it comes down to determination on the field. If we continue winning our matches, we have a great chance,” Asare said.

The Hearts shot-stopper emphasized the significance of the derby triumph, noting that it could serve as a turning point in their season.

“Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it. This win will push us to be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches.”

The victory moves Hearts of Oak into third place on 39 points, keeping them within striking distance of the summit.

They will aim to build on their resurgence when they host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Matchday 23, as the title race continues to gather pace.
