Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC have released an official statement addressing what the club describes as recent publications and public commentary concerning forward Hamza Issah.
In the statement dated February 18, 2026, the Phobian Club affirmed that Issah remains under a valid and legally binding contract. The club stressed that no competent judicial, regulatory, or arbitral body — including the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee (GFA-PSC) or FIFA — has issued any ruling confirming that the player’s contract has been lawfully terminated.
Hearts of Oak also rejected claims that the club had persistently or materially defaulted on its financial obligations, insisting that no such breach exists that would justify unilateral termination under FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. According to the club, management engaged the player on two separate occasions following correspondence from his representatives and acted in good faith to address outstanding concerns.
The club further condemned what it called the unauthorized disclosure and public circulation of confidential correspondence by the player’s representatives, describing the conduct as unprofessional and misleading.
Additionally, Hearts of Oak raised concerns over the alleged involvement of Siwelele Football Club of South Africa.
The Ghana Premier League side accused the South African club of engaging the player, issuing an invitation, and facilitating travel arrangements without notifying or seeking consent from Hearts of Oak, despite the existence of an active contract.
Hearts argued that such actions amount to player inducement and unlawful interference in violation of FIFA regulations.
Hearts of Oak confirmed that formal complaints have been lodged with FIFA and other relevant authorities against ProSports International and Siwelele FC. The club stated it is pursuing all available legal and regulatory remedies to safeguard contractual stability and protect the club’s interests.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and regulatory compliance, Hearts of Oak urged supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to rely solely on information communicated through the club’s official channels.
