Parliamentary candidate for Tamale South, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu has condemned the actions of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on election day, accusing them of vote buying.
Speaking in an interview after casting his vote, Mr. Iddrisu criticised the NPP for turning the elections into business transactions, where money was used in vote buying.
According to him, such actions contradicts with the law governing the electoral process.
“Now you see that on elections day, it is no longer an offense, under the NPP, to buy votes openly and to demonstrate that elections are all about the payment of money. That’s inducement, and That’s a criminal act under electoral laws”, he stated.
The former Minority leader indicated that it was a disgrace to the country’s governance under President Akufo – Addo’s leadership.
