Hands Off Our Hotels’ Demo: I joined the Demo for Ghana’s future – Abraham Koomson

The Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has said he joined the “Hands Off Our Hotels” demonstration to safeguard the country’s future.

This protest aims to prevent the sale of state-owned hotels.

In an interview on Ahotor FM‘s morning show ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem‘ with Citizen Kofi Owusu, Mr. Koomson accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to seize control of state assets, leaving nothing for future generations.

He praised Okudzeto Ablakwa for organizing a large protest against the sale and commended the minority caucus in parliament for their full support.

The controversy over selling state-owned hotels is intensifying. Opponents, including protesters and opposition lawmakers, argue that the sale would enable the ruling NPP to monopolize state resources.

MR. Koomson emphasized that the hotels are profitable and beneficial to the country, making their sale unnecessary.

He pointed out issues within the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), particularly criticizing the appointment of Osafo Marfo’s son as CEO, which he sees as evidence of the NPP’s attempt to dominate state institutions.

He urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP in the upcoming general elections for a better future.
