The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League is entering its decisive phase. With exactly ten matches remaining, a maximum of 30 points remain on the table, and the gap at the top is now razor-thin. After a dramatic set of results in the last four gameweeks, the title picture has been completely reshaped. Top five teams Medeama, Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC have combined to score just 16 goals and conceded 13 in the last combined 20 games. Gold Stars have scored the most, (8), five more better the second, Asante Kotoko in the scoring analysis.
1. Medeama SC (1st, 46 points)
The league leaders have suddenly gone cold. From a possible 12 points in their last four outings, Ibrahim Tanko’s side managed only three — three draws and one defeat. The once commanding lead has evaporated to just one point.
Worryingly for the Yellow and Mauve, this is reverse winless run immediately after a strong streak. History is not on their side: after four straight wins at the start of 2026, they have never gone on to win a league game in the same span. They have also failed to score in their last two matches, a worrying trend for a team that built their early-season dominance on goals.

2. Bibiani Gold Stars (2nd, 45 points)
The defending champions are in red-hot form and have suddenly become the team to beat. They collected the maximum 12 points from their last four matches — the only side besides Medeama earlier this season to achieve four straight league wins. Their latest statement result was a 2-1 home victory over Hearts of Oak, their first win against the Phobians at home since 2022. Samuel Attah Kumi continued his sensational campaign with another goal (taking him to 11 for the season and putting him firmly in the race for the Golden Boot), while Arthur struck in the second half to seal the three points.
Gold Stars have now closed the gap on leaders Medeama to a single point. Momentum, confidence and a ruthless cutting edge have returned at exactly the right time.

3. Hearts of Oak (3rd, 40 points)
The Phobians sit third but are showing signs of fatigue. They collected just five points from their last four games and suffered their first away defeat in the league since Medeama beat them in November — only their second loss overall since the turn of the year (2-1 at Bibiani).
Defensively they remain the most compact side in the division, conceding just nine goals all season. But their attacking woes are glaring: only 17 goals scored in 24 matches. That meagre tally is actually worse than two relegation-threatened sides — Hohoe United (20) and Young Apostles (22). Hearts travel to face Holy Stars next, a side they beat 2-1 away earlier this season but who inflicted a painful 1-0 home defeat on them in the 2024/25 opener. Revenge will be on the menu.

4. Asante Kotoko (4th, 39 points)
The record champions have been the biggest disappointment of the last four weeks. They picked up only four points (one win, one draw, two defeats), including a damaging 1-0 super-clash loss to Hearts of Oak. The slump cost head coach Karim Zito his job after the FA Cup exit to Aduana Stars; Prince Yaw Owusu is yet to win a home game as interim coach.
Kotoko now face a brutal March–April schedule: Nations FC (home), Aduana FC (away), Samartex (home) and Medeama (away). The trip to Wenchi for a 2-0 win over Karela United offers a glimmer of hope, but they must find consistency quickly if they are to stay in the title conversation.

5. Aduana FC (5th, 38 points)
The 2017 champions are mirroring Kotoko’s slump. They are winless in four league games, collecting just three points, and have suffered two 1-0 away defeats since the turn of the year (against Nations FC and Dreams FC). While their FA Cup campaign still offers silverware, the league title is rapidly slipping out of reach.

Summary – The Race in Numbers
– Gold Stars: 12/12 pts (last 4) → red hot
– Medeama: 3/12 pts → suddenly vulnerable
– Hearts: 5/12 pts → solid but toothless
– Kotoko: 4/12 pts → inconsistent + tough run ahead
– Aduana: 3/12 pts → fading
With 30 points still available, any team that can string together even six wins from ten will be right in the mix. Right now, Bibiani Gold Stars look the most dangerous, Medeama look shaky, and the chasing pack desperately needs a spark. The next four gameweeks will likely decide who lifts the trophy in May.
