The World Health Organisation, has revealed that over 147 countries have so far recorded cases of Covid -19 infection, which alluded to as, very scary.

President Akufo Addo on Wednesday updated the nation on the preparedness  via a live broadcast from the Jubilee House over the pandemic.

According to the President of the republic, an amount $100 million is earmark by his administration to fight the Covid-19 in the country before it emerge in the country.

However, during a phone – in interview on ahotor fm’s Adekye Mu Nsem, the former Ridge boss, Dr. Thomas Anaba, appealed  to the government to be more proactive, and immediately put measures in place to check the spread of the virus, especially at social gatherings.

He noted that, the government’s move by means of ensuring a covid -19- free nation, is belated in his estimation.

Mr. Anaba, disclosed that, Paul Kagame, the Rwandan President has shown the way, and is not too late for Ghana to emulate them.

He explained that, since the virus is contracted through body contacts, and is the reason why the Rwandan government has adopted hand washing methodology in all places of social engagement in the country to aid the curtailment of the dreadful corronavirus.

The Executive director of the Africa Health Policy Research in Analysis, further underscore the need for the Nana Addo led government to follow the examples of Rwanda if indeed Ghana want to stem the virus from entering into the country.

“Currently as we speak, there are reported cases of shortage of preventive kits in far away China, and the USA, so where are we going to get nose masks, hand sanitizers including other covid -19 kits to buy for our people” Dr. Anaba reiterated!
