Government’s Resetting Agenda Delivering Results — Dr. Asante Otchere

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), under President John Dramani Mahama, has performed excellently within its first eleven months in office, working hard within a short period to reset the country on the right economic footing for national development.

The government, together with its capable ministers, has demonstrated clear policy direction in the power sector, agriculture, and overall economic management. Its effective fiscal discipline shows that the administration is on course with its political and economic vision.

Dr. Jonathan Asante Otchere, a political analyst, Executive Director of the African Institute of Strategic Studies, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, made these remarks on the political show Simpieso, hosted by Mustapha Hadji Dean in Accra.

According to him, the Minister for Finance and Economy, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson; the Minister for Agriculture and Agribusiness, Eric Opoku; and the Minister of Energy, John Abu Jinapor, have distinguished themselves as outstanding ministers within the first eleven months of the administration.

He noted that the focused leadership and clear direction of the government have positioned the country on the right path through its “resetting agenda,” working diligently to address issues such as power fluctuations, high food inflation, and the severe economic hardship Ghanaians have experienced over the past eight years.

Assessing the government’s performance so far, Dr. Asante believes that the administration and its team have demonstrated good leadership and governance, placing the country on solid footing with positive economic gains. According to him, all sectors of the economy are experiencing growth, contributing to the broader development of the nation.
