
The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced plans to reintroduce road and bridge tolls as part of efforts to generate revenue for road maintenance and related infrastructure projects.
In a statement dated Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Ministry assured the public that the new tolling system would be modern, technology-driven, and designed to ensure efficiency and convenience for road users.
“To achieve this objective, the Ministry will employ an open, transparent, competitive, cost-effective, and fair procurement process,” the statement noted.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to addressing challenges related to toll collection and road maintenance funding through a modernized approach, ensuring a more sustainable and effective system.
