Government Reduces Cost of Admission Forms for Health Training Institutions

In a significant move to promote accessibility and affordability, the Ministry of Health has announced a reduction in the cost of application forms for health training institutions across the country. Effective immediately, the price has been slashed from GH₵200.00 to GH₵150.00, marking a 25% reduction aimed at easing the financial burden on prospective students and their families.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for Ghanaians seeking careers in healthcare, a critical sector that underpins the nation’s development. By lowering the cost of admission forms, the Ministry aims to encourage more applicants, particularly those from underserved communities, to pursue their dreams in nursing, midwifery, and other essential health professions.

The sale of application forms for the 2025/2026 academic year is set to commence on Tuesday, 22nd April 2025, and will run until Thursday, 19th June 2025. Prospective applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this window to secure their forms and begin the journey toward a rewarding career in healthcare.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that this policy shift is part of broader efforts to make health education more accessible, ensuring a steady pipeline of trained professionals to meet the country’s growing healthcare needs.

For transparency and to avoid fraud, the Ministry has reiterated that only two banks—GCB Bank PLC and the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB)—are authorized to sell the application forms. Applicants are advised to transact only through these official channels.

This proactive step is expected to have far-reaching impacts, reducing financial barriers and potentially increasing enrollment in health training institutions nationwide. The Ministry remains optimistic that this measure will inspire many young Ghanaians to embark on a path of service and contribution to the health and well-being of their communities.
