H.E NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO ADDO AND THE NPP GOVERNMENT MUST CREATE MORE JOBS TO SOLVE POLITICAL VIGILANTISM

Political vigilantism or Vigilante politics is an organized enforcement undertaken without any legal authority by a self-appointed group of people affiliated to a political party. Simply put, deliberately taking the laws into one’s own hands.

Over the years, there have been enormous reports about the notorious activities of political vigilantism across the length and breadth of our beloved country. Predominantly, the members of the vigilante groups attack appointees or nominees of the President if they deem them ‘unfit’, fearlessly locking up some particular offices and bravely freeing colleagues from the police custody among others are few of the opprobrious acts they can execute hands-down.

In relation to these unfortunate cases, we members of Patriotic Front Movement of Ghana (PAFMOG) attempt to make in-depth analysis into the causes of this social canker in order to draw the attention of the President and the entire NPP Government as concerned citizens of our land.

Upon our investigations into these mischievous act mentioned it came to our notice that lack of employment among the youth is the major cause of political vigilantism. Most of the youth that join these groups are the ones who do not have any legitimate work to sustain their livelihood: “An idle hand is the devils workshop”.

Our survey clearly indicated that if the government wants to fight these social cankers then it must invest densely in the creation of jobs in order to absorb the majority of Ghanaian youth who are currently unemployed.

In conclusion, we members of PAFMOG emphatically state that we are not Spectators but true patriots of our land. We believe that every citizen must have a role to play in hoisting the image of our nation higher. We therefore wish to convey through this immediate press released for NPP Government to create more jobs in order to solve these political vigilantism in our country

Thank you all
